Next up in the Signature Series: Ugandan Kapchorwa!

We're excited to launch our newest Signature Series coffee, the Ugandan Kapchorwa! 🇺🇬

Coming from the slopes of Uganda’s famous Mt. Elgon, this coffee bean has been roasted to a light medium and features tasting notes of dark chocolate, apricot, brown sugar and black tea. It is well-balanced with mellow flavors, moderate acidity and a heavier body than a typical light medium roast.

Hear more about Ugandan coffee production from our supplier, Genuine Origin:

Mt. Elgon rises along Uganda’s eastern border, its high elevations and volcanic soils creating ideal conditions for slow-ripening Arabica. Kapchorwa sits at around [5,900 feet above sea level], where cool temperatures and roughly [59 inches] of annual rainfall help develop dense beans and bright, refined acidity.

While Ethiopia is Africa's top coffee producer, Uganda is hot on its heels. Uganda stands as the continent's leading producer of Robusta, and its Arabica sector has expanded rapidly, particularly in high-altitude regions like Mt. Elgon and the Rwenzori Mountains. Investments in farmer training, processing infrastructure and quality improvement have elevated Uganda’s reputation as one of East Africa’s most exciting Arabica origins.

As you might have noticed, we here at Everette's Coffee have really been enjoying East African coffees this year, starting with the Tanzanian Peaberry we introduced at the turn of the calendar. Plenty of others, like Burundi, are on our radar, as well.

For those of you in Chicagoland, you can also find the Ugandan Kapchorwa at the Brookfield Farmers Market on Saturdays, the Naper Settlement French Market on Tuesdays and the Western Springs French Market on Wednesdays. Hope to see you there, and enjoy the new coffee from Uganda!
